| Bio: |  Player Information Name: Shiva Age: 23 Character Information Name: Adrian Black Greek God/Goddess/Character: Thanatos, God of Death Character Hometown: Boston, Massachusetts Major: Journalism Activities: Track Personality Description (two paragraphs or more): Adrian is not what you would expect the reincarnation of Death to be (he is unaware of this, of course). He is just an average boy, who tends to prefer to listen rather than speak. It isn't that he has nothing to say; this outlook helps him gather the information he needs to pursue journalism. Adrian is very opinionated and has a sharp tongue. He feels that most people can't handle his bluntness so he sticks to his listening. He doesn't wear black or mope around; contrarily he likes sitting outside writing in his journal, and listening to other people's problems. He'll sometimes make polite conversation with select acquaintances in class. In class, Adrian is the kind of guy to let everyone else speak up and give answers. Not that he doesn't know them, but he prefers to entertain all the variables in his mind. He thinks deeply on any number subjects, but no matter what conclusion he comes up with, Adrian will most likely keep it to himself or he'll share it with a close friend. (if he gets one). Personality Flaws: Adrian is blunt. Very blunt. He will tell you exactly what he thinks about you and leave no room for doubt, prone to indifference, reclusive, and outside of his mother hates being touched. Positive Personality Traits: He is level headed, even temperament, thoughtful, and he has manners XD. Character Strengths: Tolerance, adaptation, cool-headed, intelligent Character Weaknesses: Apathetic to others suffering but not entirely apathetic. Meaning he'll feel bad if someone got hurt or sick, but he's indifferent to death or relationship problems and the like. He also doesn't react when people get angry with him which can be irritating, and can disregard others' feelings. How do you plan to have your character evolve over the game? Adrian will find himself (unaware) gravitating towards other people reincarnated from the Underworld (Persephone, Hades, etc.) Not necessarily wanting to befriend them, but he'll find them 'interesting'. Then he'll see some old memories in his dreams of Hypnos, not knowing who it is of course. (note: these will be very vague to give courtesy to anyone who comes along to play Hypnos in the future). I also plan to develop his emotions some just to generate some internal conflict unconsciously of old vs. new self. Because emotions are strange to him, I thought that basically just making him learn to give a damn about some people would be interesting. I'm mostly leaving this open because I want to see what can come up between him and the other characters. (Just a brief outline of the things they will discover about themselves - Adrian over time will find that he will be able to run faster than most people (compensation for his wings he had as Thanatos), he can sense when someone is going to die if it's within a day, and plants with some some animals (ie a squirrel) will die if he touches them. Character History (two paragraphs or more): Adrian was born, and raised in Boston to a police chief and a homemaker. Growing up, he was just an average kid. He was very quiet but he was a sharp observer and intellect. No one would have guessed because he rarely talked about his achievements. His father was very opinionated, but a good man. His mother was more soft spoken. Adrian was an only child and thus subject to their affections which at times he did not understand. He knew he was loved by his family, but he never understood emotions that well; he contented himself by being an observer to others. Adrian was bullied in middle school but this was short lived because he never gave the bullies much of a reaction. Because of this, his classmates became a little unsettled. He hardly expressed any emotions outwardly. Not because he lacked them, Adrian kept them all inside. He is partly afraid to express his emotions because he fears being close to people. So in high school during his senior year, when he became a writer for the school news paper, most people were surprised by the things he published. It revealed that he was indeed very opinionated on a variety of subjects, and his comments towards the faulty education system and the state of the country were sharp and cutting. Adrian spared no one on the staff from his critiques, and as a result he was kicked out of the journalism class. He felt rather embittered by this, but Adrian kept this to himself. His parents got a phone call from the school and they were surprised. His father told him to 'sugar-coat' his opinions when writing for others, and his mother was none too pleased either. Adrian simply told them "If people cannot handle what I have to say then they need to get over it. I'm tired of seeing the acceptability of deception that people have under the name of propriety." That was a finality in Adrian's mind. He applied to as many different colleges as he could find. And as soon as he was accepted into Sparta, Adrian accepted and found himself feeling more 'at home' than he ever did anywhere else. Family: Kevin Black (father), Ariana Black (mother) Kevin is the chief of police for Boston. He met his wife Ariana when they were in college together at a party. He first caught her attention by tripping into the punch bowl and spilling it all over her. He is very active in the community and participates in local charities and political gatherings. He has encouraged Adrian to do so, but he just could never seem to get his son out there. Ariana come originally from upstate New York to go to school. After they got married, Ariana worked for awhile as his secretary before quitting to raise Adrian. She wanted 'nothing more than to be there for her son.' PB: Kurt Cobain | |||||||||
